—Fundación Kara Solar
Kara Solar is a project of Fundación Kara Solar, an intercultural, Ecuadorian non-profit organization founded in 2018.
Our mission is to transform energy in critical territories in order to activate resilient technological and socio-economic alternatives. We do this my co-creating and accompanying participatory community processes that contribute to the defense and management of highly diverse territories in Ecuador, in a socially, economically, energetically and environmentally sustainable way.
—Our Motivations
We believe that the best way to preserve the rainforest is to empower its indigenous custodians. By transforming energy use in vulnerable territories, we are activating resilient technological and socio-economic alternatives to degradation and exploitation.
